David Copperfield poem by Jack Gibson

Jack read this poem out in his best Suffolk accent at the "after show party" Please click on the link below these first three verses to see the rest of the poem. Well worth it, it's very entertaining!

I stand ‘ere again as your poet –
I’ve only done this once before –
An’ just look at this verse, it could ‘ardly be worse –
Why, the cast numbers thirty an’ four.

A tale not of two cities, two Davids –
One little, an’ one of ‘em large –
Sail, with them at the helm, a Victorian realm
In this Dickens of a montage.

We’ll travel thro’ time with our heroes,
An’ share with ‘em each twist of fate,
As from basket to boy, thro’ sorrow an’ joy,
David reaches man’s legal estate
